Charging with temperature equalization The optimum charging voltage of a lead-acid battery varies inversely with temperature. The Blue Power IP65 charger measures the ambient temperature during the test phase and equalizes the temperature during charging. The temperature is measured again when the charger is in low current mode, charge maintenance voltage phase or storage mode. Therefore, no special settings are needed for a cold or hot environment. Lithium Ion Battery (LiFePO4) The Blue Power charger uses a specific charging algorithm for lithium-ion (LiFePO4) batteries, with an automatic lithium-ion undervoltage protection reset function. Fully discharged battery recovery function Most chargers with reverse voltage protection will not recognize a battery that has been discharged to zero volts or near zero volts, and therefore will not recharge it. However, the Blue Power charger will attempt to recharge a fully discharged battery with low current and will resume normal charging after sufficient voltage has been established across the battery terminals.

Battery ChargersBlue Power IP22 High efficiency With up to 94% efficiency, these chargers generate up to four times less heat compared to the industry standard. Adaptive 6-stage charging algorithm The Blue Power charger features a microprocessor-controlled adaptive battery management. Adaptive means that the charging process is automatically adjusted to the type of battery usage. Storage mode: less maintenance and aging when the battery is not in use Storage mode is activated whenever there has been no discharge within 24 hours. The charge maintenance voltage is then lowered to 2.2V/cell (13.2V for a 12V battery) to minimize gas generation and thus prevent corrosion on the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is increased to the level of the gassing voltage. This provides a type of equalization charge that prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation, the two main causes of premature battery failure. Also charges lithium-ion (LiFePO4) batteries LiFePO4 batteries are charged using a simple constant current phase > constant voltage phase > charge retention voltage phase algorithm. The NIGHT and LOW settings When the unit is in NIGHT or LOW mode, the output current is reduced to a maximum of 25% of the rated output and the charger operates absolutely silently. The NIGHT mode ends automatically after 8 hours. The LOW mode can be terminated manually. Protection against overheating The output current is reduced when the temperature rises up to 50°C, but the Blue Power charger does not fail.
